Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your CoinCorner account. In addition to your email and password, you'll be required to enter a unique, time-sensitive code generated on your mobile. This makes it significantly harder for anyone else to access your account, even if they know your login details.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
- Download Google Authenticator
- Enable 2FA in your CoinCorner account
Login to your account on the website, go to the Settings page and open the Security tab, and click Enable Authentication.
- Scan the QR code
Open the Google Authenticator app, tap the + symbol and choose Scan a QR Code, then use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on the CoinCorner page.
- Verify your setup
You'll see a CoinCorner entry appear in your app with a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Enter this code on the website when prompted, then click verify.
Once completed, 2FA will be active. From now on, every login will require both your email, password, and the 6-digit code from the Google Authenticator app.
Disabling 2FA
You may need to disable your 2FA if, for example, you change phones or lose access to your previous codes. You can do this from the Settings page, or by selecting Reset Google Authenticator during the login process.
- A code will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this code exactly as shown into the website.
- You will then be asked to upload a verification selfie. This must show:
- Your poof of identity document and
- A handwritten note with the current date, and the unique number displayed on the screen
- Once submitted, our team will review your selfie and email you the result. If approved, 2FA will be disabled and you'll be able to login with just your email and password.
Security reminder
We strongly recommend keeping 2FA enabled at all times to ensure the highest level of security for your account. If you disable 2FA temporarily, we advise re-enabling it as soon as possible.
